摘要:

The introduction of new functional nanomaterials to replace the conventional bulk materials will have a bottom-up impact on the electronic devices and systems. In this presentation, I will introduce our research on novel Flash memory, two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides and topological insulators. These researches are in response to the widely recognized need for urgent progress in new logic and memory technologies to meet the ultimate CMOS scaling challenges, e.g., power dissipation and consumption. Our strategies include the integration of novel Flash non-volatile memory for on-chip application, two-dimensional semiconductor for flexible and transparent electronics, and topological insulators for new logic and sensor devices. The goal of our research is to provide the most tractable transition technologies to combine the advantages afforded by the emerging nanomaterials with the strengths of the ongoing semiconductor technology. In addition to achieving these nanomaterials and devices, new knowledge on device physics, fabrication technology and characterization metrology at the nanoscale have been generated in these research projects, with a broader impact on the field of solid-state nanoelectronics.
