Abstract:
Plasmonic nanostructures have been extensively used to manipulate light at the subwavelength scale. In this talk, I will firstly discuss metallic nanostructures for enhanced light matter interactions, e.g., plasmonic-enhanced photoluminescence, plasmonic nanostructures for surface coloration. Then I will introduce a novel hybrid graphene-metal system for studying light-matter interactions with gold-void nanostructures exhibiting resonances in the visible range. The interaction between graphene plasmon (supported by nanodot and antidot arrays) and the substrate phonons will also be addressed to map out the hybridization of plasmons and phonons.
